Young adults are failing at dental hygiene
The Centre Dental Les Escoles team

Surveys say young adults are very concerned about their dental health, above all about the possibility of losing teeth in the future. Other surveys tell us that one in three brushes only once a day.
They also put off their check-up appointments and tend to be more afraid of the dentist than any other age group, using all sorts of excuses not to go: dental phobia, or the taste of dental products.
Why it matters at 20, not at 50
All of this can lead to dental disease later on. That is why a dentist's work with teenagers matters so much: setting good habits and building the motivation to keep routine oral health prevention in place.
Three things that actually work
- Two minutes of brushing, twice a day, with fluoride toothpaste.
- Floss or interdental brushes every night: a toothbrush does not reach between teeth.
- One check-up a year. Catching a small cavity costs ten times less than treating it late.
